Cook Together, Eat Together: Let’s Throw a Tea Party

Is a tea party truly a tea party without a cream cheese sandwich? We think not.

They are fun to cut into different shapes and sizes. Part of our mission to be more food inclusive while throwing a party is to have cream cheese sandwiches that are both dairy full, dairy free or vegan.

We hope you enjoy our take on lactose free or vegan cream cheese sandwiches. We used strawberries, cucumber, lemon, rosemary, and vinegar to create different, fun combinations packed with flavor.

We mixed chopped strawberries and white balsamic with lactose free cream cheese for a delicious tea party sandwich.

Here's our simple take on dairy free cream cheese sandwiches for a tea party or gathering with friends. We used both lactose free and non dairy Kite Hill almond milk cream cheese.

ingredients:

Lactose Free Strawberry Balsamic Cream Cheese
  • 4 oz lactose free cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup firm, ripe strawberries
  • 1/2 tsp white balsamic
  • 1/2 tsp honey
Lactose Free Meyer Lemon and Rosemary Cream Cheese
  • 4 oz lactose free cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Meyer lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp fresh lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp minced rosemary
Dairy Free Chive and Cucumber Cream Cheese
  • 4 oz dairy free Kite Hill Chive cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup cucumber

instructions:

Lactose Free Strawberry Balsamic Cream Cheese
  1. Bring cream cheese to room temperature and soften.
  2. While cream cheese comes to room temperature, dice strawberries into small cubes.
  3. Add vinegar and strawberries in a bowl. Let sit for 1 - 2 minutes.
  4. Fold in cream cheese.
  5. Add honey and enjoy.
Lactose Free Meyer Lemon and Rosemary Cream Cheese
  1. Bring cream cheese to room temperature and soften.
  2. While cream cheese comes to room temperature, juice and zest the lemon and mince the rosemary.
  3. Mix lemon juice and cream cheese, then add rosemary and zest.
  4. Enjoy.
Dairy Free Chive and Cucumber Cream Cheese
  1. Bring cream cheese to room temperature and soften.
  2. While cream cheese comes to room temperature, peel, seed and dice the cucumber.
  3. Mix cucumber into the cream cheese and enjoy.

NOTES:

One container of cream cheese is 8 oz, so if you prefer to make one flavor for the whole container then we suggest doubling the recipe.
For the Meyer lemon cream cheese you can add more zest or lemon juice to taste depending on your liking.
For lactose free cream cheese we used Green Valley.
We suggest using Kite Hill if you would like to make the lactose free cream cheese flavors dairy free.
